What got you started in advertising?
In college, I was originally leaning toward the education field. However, I still wanted to keep my options open so I took an introduction to marketing class. It was this class that changed my mind. I don’t know how to say it but it just seemed like the exact fit for me.Who was a big influence in your career?
I have had a number of really great mentors and to just pick one would be difficult.What was “your finest moment,” the thing you’re most proud of?
I really don’t have one thing that stands out – I am just happy to be where I am at in my life – family and career wise.What was your most embarrassing moment in this business?
For some reason, I have a talent for putting myself in embarrassing situations. I guess I have gotten so good at it that it’s hard to just put one down.Is there a great client story you’d care to share?
Not yet, but I am confident that there will be a number of them…What attracted you to Ovation?
The people, culture and Ovation’s reputation were all factors that influenced my decision to come here.How do you come up with ideas and solutions for clients?
I try and put myself in the client’s shoes. If I can get a feel for what their needs are I can have a better understanding of their needs.What makes a great brand?

I strive to be the best I can at what I am currently doing.What’s your biggest pet peeve? (work or personal)
Meetings just to have meetings.What’s the most important thing you’ve learned about advertising?
Great advertising can make a great company if the company lives up to the advertising.What talent do you wish you had?
Anything to do with music. I am the most musically challenged person you will probably meet – I was the only fourth grader that couldn’t play the recorder.If you had to live on a desert island, what would you miss most?
My family – couldn’t imagine not being with them.What can’t you live without?
Family and coffee.What are your plans for after advertising?
Traveling and teaching. When I retire I am sure I will need something to do and I love teaching.Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?
Coffee – not sure if it is a “food” but it is definitely part of my diet.What’s your favorite sports team?
Packers, the MN Wild, and any team my kids are involved with.If you could spend a day with any person, living or dead, who would it be and what would you do?
My mother passed away when I was young – it would be great to visit with her.What’s your point of view about politics?

Outside of work I spend most of my time at a hockey rink – year-round. All three of my kids play and I play in a couple of leagues.Do you have any kids?

I admire advertising that has incredible creative backed by a sound strategy.What are your favorite Internet sites?
eBay – it’s the largest garage sale in the world. If you can’t find something on eBay, you probably can’t find it anywhere.Google – they are slowly taking over the Internet world…
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Quite frankly I would like to go everywhere! Knowing this may be an impossible goal, I would like to go to as many places as I possibly can. I love seeing new places, eating different foods and meeting new people.
